Troubleshoot Luminis/Windows Live Integration

I would appreciate assistance with troubleshooting the Luminis 3.3/Windows Live integration.  I am using the St. Johns University methodology.  Please see error message below.

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)

** Note the following.**
1. The database is up using the default instance and is set to allow remote connections.
2. We are using version 1.2.2 of the jtds driver for Unix.
